Jounce is currently in soft launch in the New York and New Jersey metro area. We're expanding to additional states over the coming months. If you're outside our service area, you can join the waitlist at jouncein.com and we'll let you know when Jounce is available where you live.
No. Jounce is designed for any family with a child who needs additional support — with or without a formal diagnosis. Under our private-pay model, you do not need a diagnosis to book any service. When we launch insurance billing (coming in Phase II), a formal diagnosis and ICD-10 codes will be required only if you choose to submit claims to your insurance. The private-pay option will always remain available.
Booking & Sessions
Once you create your free family account, you can browse provider profiles filtered by service type, location, availability, language, and specialties. Choose a provider whose approach and availability fit your family, and book a session directly through the app. You'll receive a confirmation immediately, along with session reminders as the appointment approaches.
You choose your provider — we don't assign them. Every provider profile shows their credentials, experience, specialties, languages spoken, and rates. Some families prefer to browse and self-select; others prefer to request recommendations. You can reach out to our team at any time for guidance on finding the right fit.
You can reschedule or cancel sessions directly in the app. Our cancellation policy is: • More than 24 hours before the session: Full refund. • Within 24 hours of the session: A 50% cancellation fee applies. The booking fee is refunded. • No-show: The provider may charge the full session fee at their discretion.
If your provider cancels for any reason — including last-minute — you receive a full refund of both the session fee and the booking fee. We also track provider reliability and follow up with providers who cancel frequently. In some cases, we may offer you a platform-funded credit toward a future booking.
Payments & Pricing
Yes. Creating a Jounce family account is free. You only pay when you book a session, and a small booking fee is added at checkout. Full pricing details are available at jouncein.com/schedule-fees.
Session rates are set by each individual provider and are shown clearly on their profile before you book. A booking fee is added at checkout — see our Fee Schedule at jouncein.com/schedule-fees for the current rates.
Your card is authorized at the time you book, but it is not charged until after the session is completed and confirmed. You have a 24-hour window after the session to raise any concerns before the charge is finalized.
Yes. Many services on Jounce qualify as eligible medical expenses under IRS guidelines for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). You can pay with your HSA/FSA card at checkout, and Jounce provides itemized receipts you can submit for reimbursement. We recommend confirming eligibility with your plan administrator.
Insurance billing is coming as a Phase II feature. We'll notify you in the app when this is available. Until then, some services booked through Jounce may still be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance — your itemized receipt from each session can be submitted to your carrier. Check with your plan to confirm.
Some employers sponsor Jounce for their employees through our Jounce for Teams program. If your employer participates, you may be eligible for reduced or waived booking fees and partial session coverage. Log in with your work email to see your benefits, or ask your HR team whether Jounce is part of your benefits package.
Trust & Safety
Every provider on Jounce goes through a credentialing review before they can accept bookings. For licensed providers (ABA, SLP, OT, art and music therapy, and others), we verify active state licensure with the issuing board and monitor credential status continuously — if a license lapses or is suspended, the provider is automatically removed from the platform. For Respite Care providers, who are not required to hold a state license, we require a comprehensive background check through Checkr before they can be booked. Background checks are renewed every 12 months.
Respite background checks include a multi-state criminal database search, county-level records searches, National Sex Offender Registry check, applicable state child abuse and neglect registry checks, Social Security Number trace and identity verification, and watchlist screening. Background checks are processed through Checkr, an FCRA-compliant consumer reporting agency.
Yes. Jounce complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest, maintain role-based access controls, and hold Business Associate Agreements with all third-party vendors who handle Protected Health Information. Only you and the providers you've booked sessions with. Jounce doesn't keep clinical session notes or treatment records — that stays between you and your provider. We only hold what's needed to run the platform: your account info, booking history, and payment records.
Please contact us right away at support@jouncein.com. We take every concern seriously and respond within 24 hours. Depending on the nature of the concern, we may suspend the provider's account, investigate, and — where appropriate — remove them from the platform and report to relevant licensing authorities.

Log in at jouncein.com or open the Jounce app, go to Account Settings, and update your information. If you need help, email support@jouncein.com.
You can request to delete your account from Account Settings in the app. Some records (like session history and tax records) are retained for legally required periods; full details are in our Privacy Policy.
